Can I Add Ad Space From Other Advertisers?

Can I Add Ad Space From Other Advertisers?

The answer is YES!

You can add other ads from other advertisers other than adsense

BUT

you have to make sure that these ads do not look like the adsense ads! In other words the other ads can not have the same look - ie the same layout coloring - as the adsense ads that appear on your site!

Which Ad Format Produces The Best Results?

Which adsense ad size gets the most results?

Here is an excerpt from some of my notes:

"Use the Large Rectangle-With Google Adsense, you have the option of picking different ad formats. Most of the time people opt to use the Leaderboard (728x90) or Wide Skyscraper (160x600) style ads. Unfortunately, this is the wrong choice, because both look like blatant advertisements. Instead smart webmasters have found that using the Large Rectangle (336x280) yields the best amount of click-thrus.

* Don't use the Adsense 486x60 sized ad as it is generally ignored.

* Make them more noticeable by positioning your AdSense ads on top of your AdSense page.

* Google states that the most effective ad formats are 336×280 larger rectangle, the 300×250 inline rectangle, and the 160×600 wide skyscraper. However you should choose the best AdSense ad format that works for your AdSense web site. This requires tracking and testing.

Can I Make My Adsense Ad Transparent?

Unfortunately the answer is no. You can not edit your adsense ad so that it will have a transparent background. The reason for that is because of an agreement with the google adsense program which says that the advertisers' ads must be clearly seen and that can not always be accomplished with a transparent background. So that is why there is a solid background color for the adsense ads.

The best alternative would be for you to pick a color - the most prominent color is advised - and use its color code to put on your adsense ad(s).

How Can I Track Invalid Clicks?

(More specific information about a tracking system to use was given to the person that asked this question)

Go online and do some searching for free tracking sites that only involve you copying and pasting some code to put on your site. Pick a stats tracker that will let you know where your visitors are coming from so that you can view that information.

I have such a code on my sites/blogs and when I get "invalid" clicks I check the logs and send the information to adsense.

The last time I did this I was able to get the date and time and location of the "invalid" clicks and I forwarded that information to adsense.

robots.txt file - What Is It?

Simply put the robots.txt file tells what parts of your website that you want the web "spiders" (including adsense's web "spiders") and search engines to access. You put this file on your server - which means that you place it in the same online server that hosts your website(s).

As you can see from the name of the file it is a .txt file which you can create using the simple notepad program.

You can find more specific information about robots.txt file on Wikipedia

(more specific information was given to the person that asked this question for an additional price)

How Come The Adsense Ads That Appear On My Site Don't Have Anything To Do With The Content Of My Site?

If the adsense ads that are on your site are not related to the content of your site then you definitely are missing something because the adsense ads are drawing from the content of your site so it means that the adsense ads are working right - it's just the contents of your site that isn't working "right".

Now I know that you are probably saying "How could MY content not be right?". You have to remember that the adsense spiders are basically robots / machines and that they crawl your site's contents with machine (and not human) eyes! That means that they won't be able to distinguish that your "Sunshine's Flower Store" website has to do with flowers and not sunshine. Clearly if adsense's "spiders" were human then the human spiders would be able to see that your site has to do with flowers and not sunshine. But such is not the case!

Okay so how do you get the ads to relate to the content of your site?

You have 2 options here

  • Change the wording and the content of your site. Now you don't have to give your site a major overhaul - just change the wording of your site so that the adsense spiders will find the right kind of content for the right kind of ads that you want showing on your site. Now this is going to take a bit of work and a bit of practice but honestly speaking if you want the ads to relate to the content of your site then you have to do it. Now you can't tell from this blog but if you go to one of my client's blogs - Hamming It Up - you will see that the adsense ads that appear on this blog are related to the content of the blog. You will also see that the blog posts don't compromise the intent / true meaning of the blog just to get the "right" adsense ads to appear. You can do the same thing with your blog.

  • You can implement "section targeting" on your blog so you can target the content that the adsense spiders will crawl for when searching for keyword content on your site.

    What are the "section-targeting" codes?

Just How Much Money Can I Make With Adsense?

Well, you have the potential to be able to make a LOT of money with adsense - but note that I said "potential"!

A lot depends on a lot of different things! Here is a link to a blog post that I made about just how much money are people making with adsense.

The basic way to earn money with adsense is for you to get the visitors to your site to click on the adsense ads. The more people that click the ads the more you will earn with adsense. Getting the visitors to your site to click on the ads is an "art" form in and of itself. You'll have to constantly monitor the results you are getting and find ways to increase the number of visitors that click on the ads on your site.

An additional way is to include high-paying keyword content into your site. The higher the advertisers pay to put ads on your site the more money you will make. What are high-paying keywords? You can find a lot of websites online that have lists of high-paying keywords. I also have a high-paying keyword list that you can buy via the paypal button on the side of this blog.

You don't have to have a big number of websites in order to make money with adsense. You also don't have to have an enormous amount of visitors to your site either.

What you do need is to constantly monitor the progress of your sites that have the adsense ads on them and see how you can do better to optimize your sites to make more adsense money.

For example on my sites I don't have an enormous amount of traffic and I also don't have an enormous number of websites. However I have made enough in adsense earnings this month to assure that I will get a payment next month. In other words I have already earned the minimum amount of $100 that is necessary to get an adsense payment next month and the month isn't even over with yet!
