"Do You Do Adsense Work?"

I got this in my email today and here is my reply:

Do I do Adsense work? The answer is yes. However it will depend on the type of adsense work you are looking for. Adsense publishers are posting about a decrease in their adsense earnings and a lot of them think that it has to do with the new way that Adsense is basing their ads. The adsense ads are more based on interest than on the content of one's adsense site.

So let me know what kind of adsense work you are talking about?

Adsense has changed a lot. I have been taking a survey of some my sites with adsense ads on them and I have noticed that the ads are based on the site that I came from and not necessarily on the content of the site that I am visiting.

That really changes things as far as adsense earnings go and a lot of adsense publishers are posting that their adsense numbers are way down.

Of course this doesn't seem to apply to all of the adsense publishers because some have posted that their adsense earning numbers are the same or have even increased!

Are Your Adsense Earnings Down?

The Adsense Consultant

Are your Google Adsense earnings down? Then don't worry because you are not alone! I have seen many board postings from Adsense publishers who have posted about how their adsense earnings have gone way down! Even my own adsense earnings have decreased!

But instead of whine and complain though I decided to do something about it!

There are 2 ways to increase your Adsense earnings:

  • The first way is to increase the traffic to your Adsense site. Get those traffic numbers up! Install one of the free stat tracking widgets so that you can see where your traffic is coming from! I have them on my own sites and I recommend them to my clients as well. These traffic widgets will show you where your traffic is coming from. For example with my own tracking stats I can tell that about half of my traffic comes from the search engines and the other half comes from traffic that came to my sites from places that I have posted to.

  • The 2nd way to increase your Google Adsense earnings is to incorporate more higher-paying keyword content into your site. There are a few high-paying keywords that pay as much as $100 per click! I have a high-paying keyword list of my own and it is this exact same list that I am using now to incorporate more high-paying keyword content into my (and my clients') sites.

You can either use these high-paying keywords as the basis of your site or you could take the higher-paying keywords and incorporate into a site that you have already made.

I also provide a service where I take a client's site and find the most popular search terms that are related to the client's site. With this list of the most popular search terms I incorporate these popular search terms into the client's site (or I provide them with the list of popular search terms and they incorporate those popular search terms into their own sites themselves). I am also doing this for my own sites as well.

You would probably be surprised and amazed at the number of people who are searching for the most simplest of terms and phrases. For example did you know that over 2 Million people typed in the word "adsense" in a search engine last month? That is a lot of people! Now since my blog is about being an Adsense Consultant I want to get as much of that traffic coming to this blog as possible! In fact I have noted here and on my The SEO Consultant Blog about how important it is to rank high in the search engines if you want more traffic to come to your site or blog. More traffic to your site (that has Adsense on it) means the more potential clicks you will get on your Adsense ads!

Another search term that has had over 1 Million searches is the term "making money online". It seems that a lot of people are interested in being able to make money online. Now remember that these are search terms that are associated with my blog and since Adsense is one of the great ways to earn money online visitors may come to my site seeking more information about how to make money online since I mention how the Google Adsense program is a great way to be able to make money online.

So if your Adsense earnings are down Do something about it!

How Is My High-Paying Keyword List Working?

I posted this on my original Adsense Consultant blog:

It seems that there has been a little cosmetic change to your Adsense account!

It seems that Adsense has changed the way your Adsense account page looks. According to their blog they assure us Adsense publishers that these changes do not affect the way our Adsense earnings are calculated.

Did you already see this? If not, take a look at the screen shot below:

As you can see the top portion of the screenshot shows the way your Adsense page looked BEFORE Adsense changed it. The top of your adsense page used to say "Today's Earnings" but NOW it says "Today's ESTIMATED Earnings!

According to Adsense this change that they have made will not affect your Adsense earnings.

Basically what they are saying is that your adsense earnings aren't officially tabulated until your adsense earning numbers are verified (which usually occurs around the 10th of the next month before they send your Adsense payment).

I can honestly say that I have seen this happen on my own Adsense account where at the end of the month there will be an Adsense earning total but by the 10th of the next month that Adsense earning number has changed - in my case it changed to a higher number - thank goodness.

A more detailed explanation of this can be found on the official Adsense blog by clicking here.

But after posting this on my blog I noticed that I also got a screenshot of my Adsense earnings for earlier this afternoon so I decided to include it on this blog as well.

Mind you this is how much I have earned so far today!

I have been browsing some of the adsense-related message forums and have taken notice about how a lot of people have been posting about how bad their adsense earnings are getting. Some of the adsense publishers are experiencing very low adsense earnings so far this month (and some adsense publishers have even said that their adsense earning numbers were lower even before this month of December 2009!)

Going from my past blog posts I can honestly say that my adsense earning revenue has increase and I'm accounting that to the fact that I am using more higher-paying keyword content on my sites. Another thing that I'm doing is that I have made a list of the most used traffic search terms for my particular sites and I am also using those search terms in my sites so that will help increase the traffic to my sites.

Increased traffic to one's adsense site means more potential clicks on the Adsense ads which means more potential Adsense earnings!

I understand getting frustrated and / or angry about one's Adsense earnings being so low but if you want your Adsense earnings to increase you're going to have to do something about it - which is what I am doing for myself and for my clients as well!

Need An Adsense Consultant?

As I mentioned in a previous blog post, Adsense has a new help message forum and while I'm still trying to get used to it, I'm having problems posting to the forum. So here is a reply that I tried to post there:

If you do a search you will find that there are quite a bit of Adsense Consultants out there!

But you do have to bear in mind that you want to be careful when hiring one because you will privy them to very sensitive personal information about your account.

Exactly what kind of problem(s) are you having with getting your adsense ads to appear?

Also too while what the other person said about your having competitor ads appear on your site, you can always use section-targeting to target only specific content on your site so that you can keep the competitor ads down to a minimum.

When you're looking for an Adsense Consultant you have to remember that in order for them to place the adsense ads on your site you are going to have to give them access to your adsense account - something that you want to be very careful about!.

Are You Earning More Or Less This Year With Adsense?

There is an interesting discussion going on in the Webmasters Google Adsense Forum asking whether or not people are earning more or less this year than last year with their Google Adsense money.

I thought it was an interesting question and I decided to check my own Adsense Earnings for the past 2 years!

It turns out that I am making more this year than I was last year with adsense - I would say about 40% more!

I chalk this up to being able to learn more about the Adsense program and continually working on my sites that have the adsense ads on them. Also too, as time goes by my sites start to build up traffic and more traffic means more potential clicks! I'm also working on putting more higher-paying keyword content into my sites.

So all in all I am earning more money this year with Adsense than I was last year!

Help! Trying To Add Adsense Ads To My Blog Posts?

What kind of "editing" are you trying to do to your template?

If you are using Blogger.com's newest layout / add page elements then adding the adsense ads between your blog posts is relatively simple to do.

However if you are still working with Blogger.com's older layout where you have to add the adsense coding yourself then it becomes a little bit more complicated. - however it can be done.

Here is a link to a blog (Rose's blog) that still uses Blogger.com's older layout where you have to copy and paste the adsense code in yourself - whether it be for the blog posts or for the side of your blog.

Oh and I should mention that if you want to add adsense ads to your blog posts using Blogger.com's older layout, then you should know that you don't get the option to place the ads at incremental blog posts - you can only have the option to post the ads under EVERY post!

http://grantbasics101.blogspot.com/

is an example of a blog that has added the adsense ads under each blog post using Blogger.com's older layout.

The Adsense Consultant - My Search Engine Results!

Besides being an Adsense Consultant I am also a SEO Consultant as well!

I happened upon a post from someone who was complaining about their site not being in the search engine results and I thought that 'now is a good time to check my own search engine rankings' But before I did that I happened to notice something in their post and I decided to try a little experiment to see if I could get a higher search engine ranking.

How did I do? I'll let you decide!

For 2 days now this has been how my search engine rankings have been!

"Official Adsense Consultants?"

Here is a link to a blog post that discusses the issue of there being official Adsense Consultants.

I am very hesitant to agree with such a term only because I compare it to that whole Microsoft certification thing where you have to pay a lot of money in order to get certified.

Am I Addicted To Adsense?

Actually the answer is yes! I mean the first time you get that adsense check you feel sooooo good! Then if you are like me you start of thinking about ways to increase your adsense income!

I took a look at my adsense numbers today. The weekends are usually the lowest-earning days. Mind you I said "usually because I have come to the conclusion that it is just too hard to pinpoint anything as far as one's adsense earning potential goes!

I do check my adsense numbers quite often and am pleasantly glad to find out that there are those who check their adsense numbers even more obsessively than me!

I start to panick if my adsense numbers don't change - even if its just one penny!

If you were earning money with adsense I'm sure that you would feel the same way!

And just think about those who depend on their adsense money because it is their only source of income!

Wouldn't you be addicted to adsense too?

I'm trying a little "experiment" with placing higher-paying keyword content within the content of my (and my clients') blogs....

I thought I would try a little experiment after seeing that my adsense earnings were slightly down from what I want to average as far as CPM is concerned. Even though I wanted to try this little experiment I was pleasantly surprised to see that one of my cpm's was for over $1,000! I have to be honest and say that this happened BEFORE I decided to start my little experiment! It just goes to show you that you just don't know which keyword content on your site will generate a higher cpm!

So I'm experimenting with placing higher-paying keyword content within my (and my clients') blogs. So far it looks like it is working! My average has gone up quite a bit as compared to my last month's adsense earnings.

As far as higher-paying keyword content is concerned it is basically agreed that those words / content that have to do with financial things sometimes will bring in the highest CPM rates but that is not always the case!. You could have a site or blog about something that advertisers pay little for BUT you may include a word or content that triggers the higher paying advertisers.

You just NEVER know!

It's very hard trying to "precise" techniques for generating a higher adsense earnings rate - but I guess the fun (and the profits) come in the learning and by trial and error!

Adsense Consultant?

I have often mentioned the clients that I do and have had as an adsense consultant. You can also see a list of my clients on the side of this blog.

The majority of the clients that I do have have hired me to help set up their adsense accounts. In the majority of cases they didn't know anything about adsense. They only knew that they could earn money by having adsense on their sites and they wanted them on there. They didn't know how or didn't want to be bothered with the process of how to actually add the adsense ads on their sites but they wanted them there.

I decided to post about this because I saw someone asking about where they could hire someone to help them with their adsense. I first thought about asking "me" but I then came to realize that there is a lot more involved instead of just recommending myself.

Even though there is a process to actually adding the adsense ad coding to one's site, some people have found that process difficult and others like myself have found it to be not as difficult - although I have to admit that at the beginning when I first started adding adsense to my own sites I found it to be a little difficult but I think that that was only because I was trying too hard and I was too over-anxious to start earning money right away.

In hindsight I can see that when there is a process involved the best way to go is to go slowly and take one's time. Ever heard the saying "First comes right, then comes speed"?

Actually I have talked a lot in depth about how my Adsense Consultant blog is on page one of Google's search engine results for the term "adsense consultant" but the fact of the matter is that my blog is not the only site that is listed in those search results. There are a lot of links to other adsense consultants too.

You just have to be very careful about who you choose to be your adsense consultant!

I Made It! My Blog Is Ranked #1!

Well I finally made it! My blog is ranked first for the search term

"adsense consultant"!

I would have never known this if it weren't for me checking my "stats" and seeing that someone was searching for the term "adsense consultant" and I decided to check it out myself!

This is quite an achievement for me - especially since I also work as a SEO Consultant as well!

It has taken me a few months to get to the top ranking! There were a couple of sites that were ranking above me and I was trying to figure out and work on a way to get my blog ranked higher than theirs and I finally managed to accomplish that!

It just goes to show you that I was right about the "content being king"!

I'm Currently Working On My Income Taxes..........

This will be the first year that I am declaring my adsense income on my income tax return!

Just in case your interested, you are required to report your adsense income when it is over a certain amount - I think its $400.

I have a local tax on earned income in my local community and it looks as though I won't have to pay any tax on this adsense income.

As far as my state taxes go, since my adsense income is thought of as self-employed income that is what I will be filing it as. And since it's considered self-employment income I will have to fill out my state's Schedule C form - which I don't have and have to get! Schedule C is the form to report income (and losses) from operating a business.

My federal tax return looks to be completed. About the only deduction that I will be taking this time is the expenses for my PO Box. I filled out the federal Schedule C form to claim my business income and deductions. I also had to fill out a Self-employed taxes form since its not automatically taken out of my adsense income. So it looks like I'll be getting some money back because I qualify for the earned income credit. Without this credit (or if I didn't qualify for it) I would be owing the government a payment instead of getting a refund from them!

I'm making copies of everything just to keep for my records.

So right now I'm waiting to get the proper state schedule C form - and then I should be able to have completed everything else as far as my tax returns are concerned for the year 2007!

It was getting kind of nerve-wracking and frustrating at first because of all the different forms. But I'd rather be self-employed than working for someone else.

Plus it serves as a good reminder of keeping records and receipts for the things that I will be able to claim as a business expense.

To be quite honest with you I didn't think that I would be making enough in adsense income to have to report it but I realized that I was going to have to report it when I started making more than the $100 minimum a month. But any additional income is a benefit - especially when you will be getting BACK money from the government!

Well It's Official!

January 2008 has turned out to be my highest adsense earnings month! The previous one was in October of 2007!

I was really hoping to beat my record and I was on "pins and needles" waiting to finally see the results! (Of course we're not "officially" at the end of the month yet! I still have a few more hours to go!)

I do hope that this will prove to people that it is possible to earn at least the minimum amount needed to get an adsense payment for the next month. I accomplished this (and then some)during the whole year of 2007! And 2008 seems even brighter and better!

My Site / Blog Is Not Making Any Money!

I am seeing a lot of posts from people who are complaining that their sites are not making money with adsense.

If your site is not making money with adsense and you want it to you are going to have to find out WHY!

Probably one of the best pieces of advice that I can give to you is to make sure that your blog has a theme! It seems blogs of a general nature just won't "cut it"!

Let's say for example that you have a site that is just about you - which would be classified as a general site because you would be talking about things in a general kind of way. That means that the adsense ads that appear on your site will be of a general nature too.

You can turn that around by making your blog more specific. If your site is about you then find something specific about yourself that you can write about. You can always include other information about yourself but find a theme and generally stick to it.

Take something that you love (or hate) and make your site about that.

One of Adsense's success stories is about a man who has a site. He is a handyman and his site offers good tips and content about repairs. His site is one of Adsense's success stories because he is making a lot of money with adsense.

You also have to do some "basic" work with your site if you want it to make adsense money. For example do you have a counter on your site so that you can track your traffic? What about a stats counter so that you can see where your traffic is coming from?

Is your site optimized for the search engines? That means does a link to your site come up in the search engines when people are looking for information that is related to the content on your site? You can go to my The SEO Consultant Blog to find out more about search engine optimization. You can also follow my own progress as I work to keep my (and my clients') sites ranking high on the search engines.

Here is a link to a blog post that I made about how much some people have been earning with adsense.

You should also have your blog or website looked over by someone else just so that you can get an objective point of view. Maybe there is something that you are missing but you just can't see it.

All in all I think that almost any blog or website has the potential to earn with adsense.

Optimizing Your Blog To Get More Traffic

I'm currently working on increasing the traffic to a client's blog.

The first thing that has to be done is to monitor the amount of traffic that the blog has already gotten.

Actually Adsense is good for this because I can track the number of page impressions and use it as a standard tool for keeping track of the client's blog traffic.

Right now my current goal (for the client) is to double the amount of traffic that their blog gets per month.

I have had a chance to look at their adsense totals for the month so far and as of today they have already passed the total number of traffic / visitors that they got last month.

So I'm going to monitor for the rest of the month to see if their traffic number doubles that of last month.

Adsense Consultant - Is It Possible To Earn $1 Per Click?

Is it possible to earn $1 per click? I would say that it is most definitely possible! In fact I achieved this very thing today when I checked my adsense numbers earlier. Make no mistake - getting a rate that allows you to earn $1 per click is no easy thing to do.

You have to incorporate high-paying keyword content within your site!

90% Of Adsense Publishers Earning Little To No Money?

Here is an interesting article about how a lot of adsense publishers are earning little to no adsense money.

I find that surprising and quite an ironic twist to my blog post about just how much money are people making with adsense blog post.

Currently I am about $2 away from earning at least the minimum $100 that is required to get an adsense payment in the next month.

So far July 2007 has been my best adsense earning month and August 2007 is my 2nd best and my adsense earnings are increasing every month! For the past 4 months I have always taken a little bit out of my adsense earning to buy myself a celabratory pizza for a job well done! But my adsense earnings have also allowed me to pay some of my bills and you can not beat that!

Don't get me wrong though. I don't just build websites and let them stay still. I have to constantly work on my sites - updating them and adding new content, etc.....

It's a shame that more people aren't earning more from their adsense ads and fortunately I can say that I am not one of them!

  • As of Sunday, September 16, 2007 I have earned the minimum $100 needed to get an adsense payment next month!

  • As of Saturday, September 15th 2007 - I am 40 cents away from earning the minimum $100 needed to get an adsense payment for next month - think I'll make it?

Some Tips And Advice For Optimizing Your Adsense Earnings!

Here are some things that you can do to help optimize your adsense earnings:

  • Blend in your adsense ads with the layout of your site. Take a look at my Blog Consultant Blog and notice how the ads blend in with the colors of the blog itself! This is an often advised piece of advice when it comes to optimizing one's adsense ads to increase their earnings but a lot of people don't seem to follow this good piece of advice! When you are picking the colors for your adsense ads you are given the option of either choosing adsense's already premade palettes or you can create color palettes of your own.

Now of course there are some sites that purposely make their ads look different than the colors used on their site and it seems to work for them - so they say. So my best piece of advice here would be for you to experiment to see what works best and brings in the most adsense earning for your site

  • "Above the fold" - This simply means that you should place at least some of your adsense ads at the top of your site so that it is the first thing that your site visitors will see - making it more likely that they would click on the ads!

I will be adding more tips as time goes by
