Need An Adsense Consultant?

As I mentioned in a previous blog post, Adsense has a new help message forum and while I'm still trying to get used to it, I'm having problems posting to the forum. So here is a reply that I tried to post there:

If you do a search you will find that there are quite a bit of Adsense Consultants out there!

But you do have to bear in mind that you want to be careful when hiring one because you will privy them to very sensitive personal information about your account.

Exactly what kind of problem(s) are you having with getting your adsense ads to appear?

Also too while what the other person said about your having competitor ads appear on your site, you can always use section-targeting to target only specific content on your site so that you can keep the competitor ads down to a minimum.

When you're looking for an Adsense Consultant you have to remember that in order for them to place the adsense ads on your site you are going to have to give them access to your adsense account - something that you want to be very careful about!.

Adsense's New Message Forum - A Big Thumbs Down!

at least that's just my own personal opinion!

Adsense has a new forum and you can access it by clicking here.

Maybe I just don't like change! I just accessed these new forums today and so it may take me some time to get used to them but for right now I really don't like them at all.

Merry Christmas! My PIP Has Arrived!

To be quite honest I am actually shocked to see my "payment in progress" line today!

If you want to know the specifics, first I checked out the Payment in Process message board just to see if anyone in the U.S had posted that they got their "PIP" for December 2008 yet - and come to find out that they had!

So that's when I checked my own Adsense account and the "PIP" line was there!

Merry Christmas!

Well I FINALLY Made It To $100! - Barely!

As you can see from the screenshot above, I have made it to the $100 point - plus a little bit more!

I have to tell you that my numbers are down about 40%. But I have been thinking about it and I realize that I am grateful for the adsense money that I am getting! I was thinking about that when I saw on someone else's blog that there have been people who have had adsense for over a year and still haven't earned enough to get an adsense payment yet!

Although this is one of my lowest earnings months since I first started using Adsense I do still have the rest of the month to go to earn more adsense money!

There's Been A Payment In Progress Posting!

Personally I was quite surprised!

Someone in the UK has already posted that they have received the "PIP" line on their adsense account!

Of course it is also mentioned that this person is receiving their adsense payment by regular check.

It takes a lot longer to actually get your adsense payment if you are getting it by check as opposed to if you were getting it via bank transfer.

Last year at this time there was a big discussion going on about how Adsense had to get the payments out before the end of the year for tax reasons AND so that the people that worked at Adsense could take off for the holiday season. Mind you this was rumor and speculation!

Another factor to consider is that with the overseas publishers it takes them a lot longer to receive their adsense payment(s) and it is assumed that they will be receiving their "payment in progress" lines first. But again this is only speculation because the first reported "PIP" sighting has been from the UK (in check form)!

Bummer that the weekend is coming up (as far as the payment process goes). We should be hearing more about any further "payment in progress" sightings for this month - December 2008.

12/20/08 Latest Update(s)

Well it seems that someone in India has posted that they have gotten their "PIP" line!

So far it seems that those who are getting their adsense payments by regular check are seeing their "payment in progress" lines first!

You Are Scheduled To Be Sent A Payment..........

This message has shown up in my adsense account stats! I have posted about this message before stating that it means that the payment in progress process has begun!

Obsessively, I have been looking at some of my previous posts about this and have seen that when I have gotten the above message, my "payment in progress" line has shown up on either the 23rd or the 24th of the month! However what makes things so iffy this month is that the Christmas holiday falls in with the "PIP" dates!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will get my adsense payment BEFORE Christmas.

What Was My Earliest Adsense Payment Date?

I was just checking my adsense payment information to compare months regarding when I got my adsense payment. It turns out that I was right all along when I mentioned about my getting my adsense payment before Christmas! However this was back in 2006 when for the month of November 2006, I got my adsense payment on December 20th! This was definitely enough time for me to do some Christmas shopping!

For November 2007, I got my adsense payment on December 24th BUT since the next day was Christmas, I didn't actually get the payment until the next business day!

Will we get our adsense payments before December 25th of this year?

Honestly speaking - who knows!

I'm At The Halfway MarK........

As you can see from this picture I am currently at the half-way / $50 mark. That means that I have the rest of the month to make at least $50 more so that I will be able to get an adsense payment the next month (January 2008).

As I have blogged about before I have seen a dramatic drop in my adsense earnings and my adsense click-through-rate. As an Adsense Consultant, I take this as a challenge as I work on getting my adsense numbers back to where they were when I was at my peak!

Basically speaking my adsense numbers are down about 40%! And to me that is a lot!

On the plus side I do know that some of the drop can be attributed to me having less sites - which I'm working on to increase!

If anything, you will see by my own adsense numbers that you do NOT have to have a lot of page impressions to at least start earning an income with adsense!

12/16/08 Update!

As of today I'm currently $17 away from making at least the $100 minimum needed in order to get an adsense payment next month!

My Adsense Earnings Are Definitely Lower!

I have to admit that like a lot of other Adsense earners, my adsense earnings have dropped too!

I can think on one very specific reason for this and that is that I have decreased the number of sites that I have with adsense ads. This isn't by choice, its just that some sites that I had hosted on one site has discontinued having member pages so I'm moving those sites to another host.

I really shouldn't complain though because I'm still making at least the $100 monthly minimum in order to get an adsense payment during the next month.

And it will probably be a lot of fun trying to get my adsense numbers back to where they were!

"Payment In Progress" for December 2008?

Just in case you're curious, I kind of estimate that my "PIP" line will show up on December 24th BUT I won't actually get my adsense earnings until AFTER the Christmas holiday!

I base this on the fact that last year I got my "payment in progress" line on December 24th, went through agony for that and Christmas Day and then had the money to spend the day after Christmas!

However I do remember that when I first starting getting my Adsense earnings that I got my "PIP" line on something like the 21st of December but since then those payment dates are getting later and later!

If Your Adsense Ads Are Not Showing Up Right Away..........

I was adding Adsense ads to a client's page and was concerned when the ads didn't show up right away but it says on the Adsense site itself that you should give it at least 10 minutes before seeing your ads!

Which is what happened in my case.

Just be a little patient.

My "Payment In Progress" Line Has Arrived!

Arond 2 o'clock this afternoon I checked my adsense account!

As you can see my "PIP" line has showed up for this month (November 2008)! My-oh-my what a long wait - and I haven't even actually gotten the money yet!

Being so so close to Thanksgiving, this money is definitely welcomed!

Monday, November 24, 2008

There Has Been A Payment In Progress Sighting For August 2008!

I'm a little discouraged though because I was hoping that my "PIP" line would show up today! - but so far it hasn't!

However someone has posted that they got their "payment in progress" line for their Adsense account and they are from Michigan. Again on a discouraging note this person uses the regular check option to receive their adsense. On another discouraging note someone else from Michigan posted that they hadn't received their "PIP" line yet - so one can only guess at the way this kind of thing works!

On a more brighter (and hopefully encouraging) note, usually when someone posts that they have gotten their "payment in progress" line it's soon after that everyone starts receiving theirs - so hopefully people (including me) will get them before Thanksgiving Day - which is nearly here!

"You Are Scheduled To Be Sent A Payment This Month......."

this line has finally showed up on my adsense account. What it means (to me) is that the payment process has begun but the "payment in progress line hasn't been entered yet. Usually when I see the "You are scheduled to be sent a payment" line on my adsense account, it means that sometime next week I may receive the "PIP" notice!

This month is kind of "iffy" because there are a lot of different determining factors as to which date the "payment in progress" line will appear.

For one thing November has only 30 days in it but sometimes that's a good thing and sometimes the "PIP" lines come at a much later date - like on the 27th (which is what I have as the estimated date of the "payment in progress" notice.

Also November 2008 has the same date format as December 2007 except for November having only 30 days and December having 31 days! During December 2007 I got my "PIP" on December 24th - alas that was Christmas Eve and since the next day was Christmas I didn't actually get my payment until the next business day.

So this month is kind of "iffy" - As always I'm hoping for the earliest adsense payment as possible but I'm also hoping that it does not come AFTER Thanksgiving!

I'm Currently At The Halfway Mark!

As you can see from the picture above, I'm at the halfway mark as far as earning the $100 minimum needed to get an adsense payment for next month!

While this is only the 8th of the month that is a good sign!

My adsense numbers have been getting lower for the past 2 months but that is because I have had less sites with adsense ads on them.

But I did want you to see the numbers!

11/15/08 Update!

As of today, I'm currently $4 away from the $100 minimum needed to get an adsense payment next month!

11/16/08 Update!

I finally made it a little past the $100 mark today!

so at least I know I will get an Adsense payment next month!

Let's see what the rest of the month brings................

Political Ads?

I have seen some people posting that there are political ads on their sites when their sites are not political in nature!

While it's true that the adsense ads are mostly based on the content of one's site(s), I believe that there may be some instances where certain types of ads are running - in this case - the political ads - all because of the great "push of more awareness (and votes) of the election. We all know how heated this last election has been and there have been ads everywhere!

I also believe this same rule applies for certain movies (and maybe even some new books that are out) where the advertiser is maybe paying for a big "push regarding their products.

I have seen ads like this on some of my own sites that have adsense ads on them and I believe that they are more of a popularity thing as opposed to being related to the content of your site.

If it helps at all the ads don't stay there very long!

Payment Received And Some Of It Already Spent!

Just wanted to let everyone know that my adsense payment was received and I have already spent a good portion of it!

In fact, I was having so much fun spending money that I just didn't have the time to post about actually receiving the payment.

As a matter of curiousity, my "PIP" was received on a Friday which meant that I didn't actually get the payment until the next business day which was Monday!

According to my calculations, the "payment in progress" line for Novemeber 2008 is estimated to be on November 27th!

Payment in Progress!

Well, there it is! A "payment in progress" line on my adsense account!

Of course on the "sad" side since the "PIP" line just showed today, that means that I won't actually have it until Monday at the least! It's gonna be a long wait!

Thursday, October 23, 2008

There Has Been A "Payment In Progress" Sighting!!

Unfortunately (for us in the US) that may mean a longer waiting time before our own "PIP" will show up!

Even though I posted in a past post that the estimated time for the "payment in progress" line to show up would be around the 27th of this month (based on a month with a similar date layout) there's still hope that the "PIP" line may show up for us in the US tomorrow - I base that on the fact that there is already a "payment in progress" sighting.

If it does show up tomorrow then unfortunately that means that the earliest that I would be actually able to spend the money would be Monday! - 3 days away!

I Made It Past The $100 Mark!

Actually I reached the $100 mark a few days ago but I was just too tired to post!

A lot of people have been posting about how disappointed they are with their adsense numbers and I have to admit that my own numbers are low as compared to what they usually are! So I'm going to work on adding more high-paying keyword content to my blogs.

One Of The Most Frequently Asked Questions Seems To Be.......

Why do I have clicks but no earnings?

The most basic answer to this is that if you are getting clicks but no earnings then that means that Adsense is counting those clicks as invalid!

Another, more remote, possibility is that the ads that have been clicked are public service ads of which you don't get paid for.

One of the main reasons why public service ads may be appearing on your site is that the adsense spiders can't find any content on your site that would appeal to advertisers.

Being Able To Track Your Adsense Ads On Your Blogger.com Blog.......

If you are using Blogger.com's newest layout / format then you should know that you have the option of letting Blogger.com place the adsense ads in your blog (first you have to give them permission to do so).

I did this with one of my newer blogs, Different Blog Layouts, because since that blog is about different blog layouts I constantly have to change / tweak the additional gadgets / widgets that appear on that blog - so I opted for letting adsense add the ads.

However I wondered how I would be able to track the ads since there was no customized channel name given to the blog. I found the solution (so far) and that is to give the site its own tracking channel by adding the url of the site / blog! You can do this by "adding a new url" when you go to the channels portion of your adsense account set up!

Once your blog starts to get visitors (and clicks) then it will show up on your adsense reports!

I'm A Little Past The Halfway Mark For This Month - So Far!

Was looking at my adsense numbers today and noticed that I am just a little bit past the half-way mark towards earning at least the $100 minimum needed to get an adsense payment next month!

I have noticed that there have been a lot of people posting about their adsense numbers going way down! I, too have noticed it on my own adsense numbers but if I got to the half-way mark already then that is a GOOD sign!

How Do I Paste The Adsense Ads On My Blog?

This could get kind of complicated because first we don't know if you
are using Blogger's newest layout or their old one.

If you're using their newest layout then you can let Blogger.com add
the adsense ads (after you give them permission to do so) for you at
either the bottom of your blog posts or by adding a new gadget /
widget on the side of your blog.

However if you are using Blogger's older version then it gets a little
more complicated in that first you have to decide where you want to
place the ads. After you decide then it's a matter of copying and
pasting your adsense ads in the RIGHT place on your blog's template.

A Little Experiment!

Besides being an Adsense Consultant I am also a SEO Consultant as well and I have been noticing for the past 3 days that this blog has been ranked #1 when the term adsense consultant is typed into Google's search engine.

I'm getting an inkling as to how this is being made possible - but I can't say for sure yet.

Like with all great SEO techniques it requires some experimentation to see if I am right about this!

What Are PSA's?

PSA's stand for public service announcements - and they are ads for things like donating to charity, helping disaster victims and so on. You don't get paid for these kinds of ads and like the other poster said they usually appear when the adsense "spiders" can't find any content on your site that is attractive to advertisers.

Adsense Account Disabled, They Appealed and They WON!

Although there are many instances when there have been people who have had their adsense account banned or disabled, there are (fortunately) examples of those who have appealed their account and WON!

Read this thread to find out about one such adsense publisher who was able to get their adsense account re-instated!

September 2008! - Payment In Progress!

The first place that I always go and check first to find out about the latest "PIP" is Webmasterworld Google Adsense Message Board! I took a look at it today as soon as I got online and there were already 8 more posts about the latest "payment in progress" line showing up. So excited that I was I decided to check my own Adsense numbers to see if the "PIP" line showed up in my own Adsense account and there it was!

Judging by the forum thread it looks as though places outside the US had gotten their "payment in progress" lines first - in places like Malaysia and India. But there are also posts from those in the US who have gotten their "payment in progress" lines too.

Are You Earning More Or Less This Year With Adsense?

There is an interesting discussion going on in the Webmasters Google Adsense Forum asking whether or not people are earning more or less this year than last year with their Google Adsense money.

I thought it was an interesting question and I decided to check my own Adsense Earnings for the past 2 years!

It turns out that I am making more this year than I was last year with adsense - I would say about 40% more!

I chalk this up to being able to learn more about the Adsense program and continually working on my sites that have the adsense ads on them. Also too, as time goes by my sites start to build up traffic and more traffic means more potential clicks! I'm also working on putting more higher-paying keyword content into my sites.

So all in all I am earning more money this year with Adsense than I was last year!

Help! Trying To Add Adsense Ads To My Blog Posts?

What kind of "editing" are you trying to do to your template?

If you are using Blogger.com's newest layout / add page elements then adding the adsense ads between your blog posts is relatively simple to do.

However if you are still working with Blogger.com's older layout where you have to add the adsense coding yourself then it becomes a little bit more complicated. - however it can be done.

Here is a link to a blog (Rose's blog) that still uses Blogger.com's older layout where you have to copy and paste the adsense code in yourself - whether it be for the blog posts or for the side of your blog.

Oh and I should mention that if you want to add adsense ads to your blog posts using Blogger.com's older layout, then you should know that you don't get the option to place the ads at incremental blog posts - you can only have the option to post the ads under EVERY post!

http://grantbasics101.blogspot.com/

is an example of a blog that has added the adsense ads under each blog post using Blogger.com's older layout.

You Are Scheduled To Be Sent A Payment..........

I posted about receiving this message before noting that everyone who is scheduled to receive an Adsense payment would also receive this message too.

What I particularly noticed about receiving this message this is that again I am receiving it on the 18th of the month. When I posted about this before I noted that when I got this message on the 18th, my "payment in progress" line showed up on the 23rd of the month!

According to my obsessive calculations I have already noted that on a comparable month, the "PIP" line would show up on the 26th of this month (September 2008) but I have also noticed that January 2007 has the same date format except that September 2008 has one less day! During January 2007, my "payment in progress" line showed up on January 23rd!

Personally my gut tells me that my "PIP" will show up sometime between the 24th and 26th (which happens to be on a Friday which means no actual Adsense money in hand until Monday at the very least!) of this month.

We'll see just how close my calculation will be!

I'm At The Halfway MarK........

I checked my Adsense numbers today and see that I am a little bit past the halfway mark of earning at least the $100 minimum needed to get an Adsense payment next month!

The good news is that it is only the 8th of the month and that means that I have the rest of the month to go to make at least the minimum $100 needed to get an adsense payment next month - and I'm already halfway there!

There seems to be a trend of people earning a lot less Adsense money than they used to and I can definitely see some lower numbers in my own Adsense numbers but I'm highly encouraged by the fact that those numbers can go up at any time!

You never know what keyword will trigger a higher-paying advertiser! Although there are high-paying keywords lists available here and all over the Internet, don't forget that your content can generate a high-paying keyword all by itself!

I made it! - September 11, 2008!

9/11/08 Update - I'm now just under $4 away from earning the $100 minimum needed to get an adsense payment next month.

9/10/09 Update! - Upon checking my numbers today I see that now I am about $14 away from reaching the $100 minimum!

"Payment In Progress" for September 2008?

Just in case you're curious, I did some checking to see which month had the same layout as September 2008 and I came up with October 2007.

During October 2007, I got my "PIP" line on the 25th of that month. So that is what I'm estimating for this month of September 2008 - which is the 25th of the month!

I'm Going Through The Arduous Task Of Removing My Adsense Referral Ads!

If you don't know it by now, Adsense is getting rid of their referral ads. You can read more about that by clicking here.

I kept the referral ads on until the last minute but since this is the last week of August 2008, I'm starting to remove them because any adsense referral ads will now just be seen as a blank space!

I have a lot of blogs to go through - including those of my clients - until I get to them all!

There Has Been A Payment In Progress Sighting For August 2008!

As of now 2 people have posted about getting their "PIP" line on their adsense account. So far both of these people receive their adsense payment by check.

Unfortunately we don't know where these people are located so we can't track the payment process progress.

But the good news is that a "payment in progress" has been reported so it won't be long before we all get it!

What is Smartpricing?

Let's say that two sites run the same ad. The site where the ad is generating less clicks can be subjected to smartpricing. That means that the advertiser pays less on the site with the lesser performing ad than they would on the other site which is generating more clicks.

$1 (Or More) Per Click?

Yes it is possible to get $1 (or more) per click!

I was checking my adsense numbers today and saw that 2 clicks had generated over $3! Estimated that meant that those 2 clicks were worth at least $1.50 per click! The cpm was over $1000! - so that must be the reason why!

Payment In Progress - July 2008!

Well it's official! The "PIP" line has shown up in my adsense account for this month - Juy 2008!

PIP - There Has Been A "Payment In Progress" Sighting!

My predictions from a recent post had the "PIP" line showing up for July 2008 around the 23rd! Someone has already reported that they got their "Payment In Progress" line showing on their adsense account!

From what I can tell so far no one in the United States seems to have gotten their "PIP" line yet!

I'll keep everyone updated!

The Adsense Site Is Temporarily Down Today!

Did a little checking around and found out more information (and a discussion as well) about the adsense site being down today.

Adsense Site Temporarily Down!

I must say that I'm not going to like the feeling of having to wait to see my adsense numbers for today - especially since I have been doing quite well!

Looks like we'll be waiting a while because it's supposed to not be back up until around 6pm EST!

Update!

As of 8pm EST the adsense site is back up!

How Do I Add The Adsense Ad(s) Between My Blog Posts?

If you are using Blogger.com's latest layout/format the you log in to your Blogger.com account and click on "layout" of your blog. (If your blog is in template form then you would have to add it to the html of your blog)

One the left where it shows your blog/post "layout" you should see a link that says "Edit" - click on that and you should see the option to add the adsense ads to your blog post.

These options include you being able to pick the color layout that you want and the number of posts that you want your adsense ads to appear - ie like every 2nd or 3rd or even 5th post.

One thing you should know however is that you have to give Blogger.com permission to add your adsense ads and that involves clicking on the link that they provide you with.

You Are Scheduled To Be Sent A Payment......

I guess that being obsessive about Adsense is a good quality for an Adsense Consultant to have!

If you take a look at the above picture you will see that it says "You are scheduled to be sent a payment....................". Now there is nothing unusual about that. The adsense publishers who are scheduled to get a payment the next month all see this.

However what should be noted here is that this message is showing up earlier than usual - at least for me it is! For me it usually shows up around the 20th, 21st of the month and this is the 18th!

Obsessive adsense person that I am, could this mean that we will be getting a payment early? According to my obsessive adsense computations and "guesswork, the last month that had the same date format as this month - July 2008 - was May 2007 and during May 2007 I received my adsense "payment in progress" line on May 23rd! Could this mean that the same thing will happen during this month of July 2008? Will I (and "we") get the "PIP" line on July 23rd? (which just happens to be next Wednesday.

Can I Add Ad Space From Other Advertisers?

Can I Add Ad Space From Other Advertisers?

The answer is YES!

You can add other ads from other advertisers other than adsense

BUT

you have to make sure that these ads do not look like the adsense ads! In other words the other ads can not have the same look - ie the same layout coloring - as the adsense ads that appear on your site!

The Adsense Consultant - My Search Engine Results!

Besides being an Adsense Consultant I am also a SEO Consultant as well!

I happened upon a post from someone who was complaining about their site not being in the search engine results and I thought that 'now is a good time to check my own search engine rankings' But before I did that I happened to notice something in their post and I decided to try a little experiment to see if I could get a higher search engine ranking.

How did I do? I'll let you decide!

For 2 days now this has been how my search engine rankings have been!

Adsense?

It seems Google's Adsense name wasn't the first to actually use the name / term adsense. It seems to have originally belong to a consultant firm (which has since sold it to another company).

Adsense Not Adsense?

"Official Adsense Consultants?"

Here is a link to a blog post that discusses the issue of there being official Adsense Consultants.

I am very hesitant to agree with such a term only because I compare it to that whole Microsoft certification thing where you have to pay a lot of money in order to get certified.

Am I Addicted To Adsense?

Actually the answer is yes! I mean the first time you get that adsense check you feel sooooo good! Then if you are like me you start of thinking about ways to increase your adsense income!

I took a look at my adsense numbers today. The weekends are usually the lowest-earning days. Mind you I said "usually because I have come to the conclusion that it is just too hard to pinpoint anything as far as one's adsense earning potential goes!

I do check my adsense numbers quite often and am pleasantly glad to find out that there are those who check their adsense numbers even more obsessively than me!

I start to panick if my adsense numbers don't change - even if its just one penny!

If you were earning money with adsense I'm sure that you would feel the same way!

And just think about those who depend on their adsense money because it is their only source of income!

Wouldn't you be addicted to adsense too?

I'm $4 Away From The $100 Minimum Needed To Get An Adsense Payment Next Month!

I checked my adsense numbers today and see that I am around $4 away from making the $100 minimum that I need to be able to get an adsense payment next month!

Actually I was kind of shocked because for the past 2 months my numbers were a little bit lower than I wanted them to be. One of the reasons for the low numbers is that "robots.txt" thing that caused me to lose a few days of adsense earnings.

I have also been experimenting with moving my adsense ads around and putting higher-paying keyword content into my sites.

I have to emphasize that you do NOT need a lot of sites and/or a lot of traffic to generate at least the $100 minimum needed to get an adsense payment the next month.

So if you have one blog and you are discouraged I hope this blog post helps to motivate and inspire you!

While there are no adsense ads on this blog you visit one of my other blogs such as The Blog Consultant blog or my "Free Things That I Have Found On The Internet" blog.

Update! - Just 4 hours laters I was able to meet the minimum $100 needed to get an adsense payment next month!

I am showing you these numbers to help show you and prove to you that you do NOT need a whole lot of traffic to your site to at least earn the $100 minimum needed to get an adsense payment the next month!

Also too as you can see from the picture above my average cpm rate is not that shabby either! But of course I'm working on increasing that as well!

Also if you remember from some of my past posts I have said that I try to work on getting at least a 10% CTR- so I'll have to work on that some more too!

Main / Sole Source Of Income....

You may find this hard to believe but there are people out there who depend on their adsense earnings as their main or sole source of income.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with that but you certainly would have to be able to earn a lot of adsense money if you were going to use that money to live on!

It's not an impossible task, here is a link to one of my most popular blog posts about how much money some people have been making with adsense:

It's A Little Too Early To Speculate But..............

I was looking at the month and trying to guess-ti-mate when the next adsense payment will come during this month - July 2008 - so I looked for past months that have the same date format as July 2008. May 2007 has the exact same layout and when I checked I got my "payment in progress" line on May 23rd!

Dare I hope that the same thing will happen on July 23rd 2008?

As Of The End Of August 2008 - No More Referral Ads!

Just found this out today but Adsense is "retiring" their referral ads.

This means that if you have the adsense referral ads on your site that you should delete the code)s) for them because as of the end of August 2008, the referral ads will not display on your site(s).

Here is a link to the adsense blog that explains it more in detail:

"Payment In Progress" - PIP, PIP HOORAY!

The "PIP" line is showing on my adsense account today! Yipeeeeeeeeee!

I should go buy some beer to celebrate!

It's always an agonizing wait waiting for that monthly adsense payment!

But I should be happy (and I am!

that the "payment in progress" line has finally showed up for June 2008 for my May 2008 adsense earnings!

Can't See The Adsense Ads On Your Site?

Adsense has said that the number 1 reason why an adsense publisher's ads do not appear on their site is because the publisher has copied and/or pasted the adsense ad codes wrong.

So many people seem to be having problems with having the adsense ads appear on their site or blog. While I haven't had a 100% success rate with adding the adsense coding to my own sites, it's usually just a matter of "tweaking" that lets me solve the problem.

Asking someone to "help" you with adding the adsense coding to your site isn't an impossible thing to do (I have done it for many a client) BUT but it is something that requires some detailed work!

Just on the off chance.......................

I checked my adsense account today (Sunday) just to see if my "payment in progress" line was showing. It was not!

Since I have been with Adsense for over a year now I have never seen the "PIP" line show on a Sunday - or Saturday for that matter!

So I'll just have to wait until Monday to see if my "payment in progress" line shows up for this month - June 2008!

The Adsense Site Will Be Down For Maintenance Today

Here is an excerpt from the "Adsense Advisor"

There will be site maintenance this Saturday, June 21st, from 10 am - 3 pm PDT . That's a start time of 1pm (Saturday) in New York, 6pm (Saturday) in London, 10.30pm (Saturday) in New Delhi, and 3am (Sunday) in Sydney.

As you know, you will not be able to access your account during this maintenance, but your ad serving and reporting will not be affected.

As near I can estimate this means that the adsense site will be down for a total of 5 hours today!

Guess we will just have to grin and bear it.

"If My Account Is Disabled What Happens To The Adsense Money That I Earned?"

If your adsense account gets disabled then the money in your account gets refunded back to the advertisers.

This is something that I just found out about as many people are posting that their adsense accounts are getting disabled.

"I Can't Get The Adsense Ads To Show On My Site"

People are posting many, many times about how they can't get the adsense ads to show on their site. Here is one of my replies to this often posted problem:

Even though your post is more than a few days old hopefully you have found a solution by now but if not............

You have to copy and paste the ad codes into your site and if the ads are not showing then the #1 reason (adsense says) is because people are not copying and pasting the codes in right.

We don't know the html (or url) of your website and we don't know where you are pasting the code so we wouldn't know whether or not you are placing it in the wrong place and as a matter of fact we don't even know if you copied the ad code correctly?

It is not an easy question to answer especially if the person that needs help doesn't even provide a link to their site. It is as if they are expecting a magic to somehow reach into their computer and wave their magic wand so that the adsense ads "magically show up.

It ain't gonna happen that way!

Do you want to place odds on when the adsense payment will be coming this month?

June 2008 has the same layout as July 2007 and during July 2007 I received my "payment in progress" line on July 23rd which happened to have been a Monday.

So it will be interesting to see if a "PIP" line shows up on the 23rd of this month although similar comparisons haven't resulted in similar results.
-----------------------------------------------------------

6/16/08 Update! - I also did some further checking and found out that April 2007 has the same date format as this month, June 2008. On that month my "payment in progress" line showed up on April 24th, 2007 which was on a Tuesday.

I'm trying a little "experiment" with placing higher-paying keyword content within the content of my (and my clients') blogs....

I thought I would try a little experiment after seeing that my adsense earnings were slightly down from what I want to average as far as CPM is concerned. Even though I wanted to try this little experiment I was pleasantly surprised to see that one of my cpm's was for over $1,000! I have to be honest and say that this happened BEFORE I decided to start my little experiment! It just goes to show you that you just don't know which keyword content on your site will generate a higher cpm!

So I'm experimenting with placing higher-paying keyword content within my (and my clients') blogs. So far it looks like it is working! My average has gone up quite a bit as compared to my last month's adsense earnings.

As far as higher-paying keyword content is concerned it is basically agreed that those words / content that have to do with financial things sometimes will bring in the highest CPM rates but that is not always the case!. You could have a site or blog about something that advertisers pay little for BUT you may include a word or content that triggers the higher paying advertisers.

You just NEVER know!

It's very hard trying to "precise" techniques for generating a higher adsense earnings rate - but I guess the fun (and the profits) come in the learning and by trial and error!

Adsense Site Temporarily Down?

Well I went to get my daily Adsense "fix" and saw that the site is temporarily down!

I don't know how long the adsense site will be down today.

I'm At The Halfway Mark!

I was writing down my adsense earnings for the year so far and it was a pleasant surprise to find out that I'm already at the half-way mark of earning at least the $100 minimum to get an adsense payment for the next month! And it's only June 4th!

That is one of the pleasantly surprising things about having Adsense. You don't know from day to day how much you have earned! Yesterday I was looking at my earnings and was slightly disappointed because my earnings were lower than average and the next thing I know my adsense earnings had tripled in the span of about 3 hours!

I really can't account for how that happened other than my experimenting with higher-paying keywords that I have been putting into the content of my sites.

So far I LOVE the results!

Payment In Progress - Payment Received!

Well I have been offline for a few days and just recently checked to see when my "PIP" line showed up on my adsense account. The "payment in progress" line showed up on my account on May 23rd which was last Friday. However since Monday was Memorial Day then that meant that I didn't actually receive the payment until today.

It was a looooong weekend!

I'm $19 away from earning the $100 minimum!

I'm striving to have at least a 10% click through rate as far as my adsense ads are concerned.

Every month I post how close I am to the minimum of $100 needed to be earned before one can get an adsense payment the next month.

I checked my adsense "numbers" today and see that I am about $19 away from earning the $100 minimum needed to get an adsense payment next month. I also see that I have earnings from both the search box and the adsense referrals so my total earnings are above what I earned from just the "content" ads alone. So I may be closer to that $100 than I expected.

As you can see there are no adsense ads on this blog. That is because the name of this blog is called "The Adsense Consultant's" Blog and the word "adsense" is part of the url of this blog. I thought about changing it but I have put so much time and effort into this blog that I'm going to keep it as it is.

I will update you all when I have met the $100 minimum.

Adsense Consultant?

I have often mentioned the clients that I do and have had as an adsense consultant. You can also see a list of my clients on the side of this blog.

The majority of the clients that I do have have hired me to help set up their adsense accounts. In the majority of cases they didn't know anything about adsense. They only knew that they could earn money by having adsense on their sites and they wanted them on there. They didn't know how or didn't want to be bothered with the process of how to actually add the adsense ads on their sites but they wanted them there.

I decided to post about this because I saw someone asking about where they could hire someone to help them with their adsense. I first thought about asking "me" but I then came to realize that there is a lot more involved instead of just recommending myself.

Even though there is a process to actually adding the adsense ad coding to one's site, some people have found that process difficult and others like myself have found it to be not as difficult - although I have to admit that at the beginning when I first started adding adsense to my own sites I found it to be a little difficult but I think that that was only because I was trying too hard and I was too over-anxious to start earning money right away.

In hindsight I can see that when there is a process involved the best way to go is to go slowly and take one's time. Ever heard the saying "First comes right, then comes speed"?

Actually I have talked a lot in depth about how my Adsense Consultant blog is on page one of Google's search engine results for the term "adsense consultant" but the fact of the matter is that my blog is not the only site that is listed in those search results. There are a lot of links to other adsense consultants too.

You just have to be very careful about who you choose to be your adsense consultant!

Can I Place Adsense Ads On My Wordpress Blog?

I thought that this was a very interesting question and I have to honestly admit that I didn't know the answer to it so I looked it up.

In a word you cannot add Adsense ads to your Wordpress blog

Here are some excerpts:

  • I have read the WorsPress Features in Advertising section that signed :

To support the service we may occasionally show Google text ads on your blog, however we do this very rarely. In the future you’ll be able to purchase an upgrade to either turn the ads off or show your own ads and make money from your blog.

  • ok. I can't do Adsense, but wordpress can. hmm. guess i'm moving my blog. thank you

  • Planning to shift to Blogger or something else. Ridiculous as to why we cannot post our own ads

  • It's just too bad we can't have Adsense in WordPress.com. The templates look very professional if you compare with Blogger.com's. I just registered with WordPress, guess I have to pull my blog out. What a waste! But just wondering...are all ads not permitted in Wordpress? If not, what are they? Most peolple hook up to the net to make cash online, & I'm one of them. If WordPress can help people like me, it's just like my prayer's answered.

Payment In Progress - April 2008!

I wanted to be the first one to post that I received the "PIP" line in my adsense account but alas I was the 2nd! Someone in NY posted that they got their "payment in progress" line about 20 minutes before me!

I'm especially grateful about this because if that "PIP" line showed tomorrow - which is Friday - then I would have had to wait until Monday at the earliest to be able to spend any of that Adsense money!
