I'm Hoping To Surpass My Highest Adsense Earnings This Month!

Once you start getting money from adsense it will feel so good that you will want to earn more! I know that is how it is for me! It took me two months to get my first adsense payment and boy were those two months going sloooooooooooowly! Since I had resigned myself to the fact that I wouldn't be getting an adsense payment after my first month I became quite fanatical about watching my adsense earnings accumulate so that I would make at least the $100 minimum needed to get an adsense payment the next month. As the 2nd month drew to a close I made enough (and then some) to get at least the minimum adsense payment of $100 (and then some!)

So far I have managed to earn at least the $100 minimum of earnings needed to get an adsense payment for every month this year!

Now comes the next goal which is surpassing what my highest earnings month which was July of this year! The one thing that I can truly say about my adsense earnings is that my earning totals "see-saw" all the time. My highest earnings month was July 2007 but August through September have come close.

Like I said I'm hoping to surpass my highest earnings month. I have about 4 days to go and I have already surpassed August and September's earnings.

I'm crossing my fingers (and biting my nails too!)

Update! - It's official! October 2007 will be my highest adsense earnings month! I checked my adsense numbers today and found that I have now surpassed my previous highest month which was July 2007! And I still have 24 more hours to go!

October 2007 - Payment In Progress?

Well there it is! The infamous "Payment In Progress" line (or PIP for short)! Just in case you're wondering, I'm on the East Coast and the PIP line is dated yesterday!

You can also view the current discussion thread about the current "payment in progress" line for this month.

For some reason this just seems to be an odd occurence of that "payment in progress" line showing up on a Thursday. If you have opted for EFT then usually it only takes one business day for your adsense payment to show up in your bank account. But like I said - for some odd reason - it is not showing up today which is Friday which means that you would have to wait until at least Monday to see if your adsense payment will show in your account.

I've been looking at the boards to see if anyone else has discussed this but so far I haven't seen anyone else talking about it - I think its weird!

Update - Well I got my adsense payment (and spent some of it (-: already!)

It seems like those adsense payments are coming later and later!

How Can I Get My Adsense Account Back?

If Adsense cancels your adsense account they probably have a very good reason. However if you feel that a mistake has been made you can appeal adsense's decision.

Here is an excerpt from one of Adsense's pages regarding appealing to get your adsense account back:

As you know, Google treats instances of invalid clicks very seriously. By disabling your account, we feel that we have taken the necessary measures to ensure that invalid clicks will not continue to occur on your site. Due to the proprietary nature of our monitoring system, we're not able to disclose any specific details of these clicks.

Publishers disabled for invalid click activity are not allowed further participation in Google AdSense. However, if you can maintain in good faith that the invalid clicks we detected on your ads were not due to your actions or negligence, or the actions or negligence of others working for you, you may appeal the closing of your account.

Google reserves sole discretion in considering whether to take any action on an appeal.

In order to appeal the disabling of your account, please supply us with the details requested below. We're unable to consider appeals that do not contain all of this information:

You can go to their site directly using the link below to get to their form to "appeal" their decision

https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/request.py?contact=invalid_clicks_appeal

-------------------------------------------------
6/16/08 Update!

Here is the latest information about how you can appeal your adsense account being disabled:

Can my account be reinstated after being disabled for invalid click
activity?

We're always willing to work with you to resolve any issues you may
have. If you feel that this decision was made in error, and if you can
maintain in good faith that the invalid activity was not due to the
actions or negligence of you or those for whom you are responsible,
you may appeal the disabling of your account.

To do so, please contact us only through our online appeal form.

Once we receive your appeal, we'll do our best to inform you quickly
and will proceed with appropriate action as necessary. Please
understand, however, that there is no guarantee that your account will
be reinstated.

Please also bear in mind that once we've reached a decision on your
appeal, further appeals may not be considered, and you may not receive
any further communication from us.

What Are The Odds?

What are the odds of being able to get your adsense payment on the same date as a past month with a similar calendar?

Let me explain.

October 2007 has the same calendar day layout as January 2007. In January 2007 I got my adsense payment on the 23rd - so I was kind of hoping that the same thing would occur this month since the 2 months are exactly similar.

Well its October 24th and still no sign of that "payment in progress" line on my adsense account.

It just goes to show you that adsense's payment schedule has no rhyme or reason.

"I Can't Paste The Adsense Codes Into My Blog"

Here is a comment that was in my comment box. I posted it here because whoever wrote this comment left their email address and I didn't want to include it so that they could possibly get spammed!

Hello Sister2brother

I am from India, i created blog and joind in adsense i got code but i am not able to past (post)in my blog plz tell me how to put into my blog i am very new to this bussines, i want make money through this i don,t no what to do.this is my mail id

I can only assume here but I'm assuming that you are using Blogger's new layout option, If you are then you have the option of letting blogger add the adsense codes for you. (The one caveat of this is if you choose to let Blogger add the adsense codes to your blog posts the ads will be aligned to the left and not centered) You will have to give them your adsense sign-on information but once you have done that once then you shouldn't have to do it again. When you use this option you also get the option of deciding the color layout that you want your adsense ads to have. This is much better than using the color schemes that adsense has because the color schemes that blogger chooses for you are related to the color scheme of your blog.

The other option that you have is to manually paste the adsense codes into the layout of your blog. Now where you paste the codes will depend on where you want your adsense ads to appear. If you choose to let blogger add the ad codes then they will appear in your blog posts. But in order to have your adsense ads appear on the side and/or bottom of your blog you will have to "add a new element" by clicking on that option. A screen will show up where you can give a title to your new element and then you can paste the adsense codes in the box that appears under the "Title" box.

After you finish pasting your adsense code be sure to click "save", give it time to implement and then you should be returned to your original layout template where you can view your blog so that you can see that you added your adsense codes correctly.

How Does Adsense "Crawl" My Site?

I am using Google Analytics for tracking the sources of my page visits etc. Google Analytics is great. I think there is some number, like for this many words in an article this much number of keywords should be there. I have heard that some where. But not getting the exact stats for that. I mean, If there are 100 words in my article, then my article should have atleast 30 words which is main keyword. Can u let me know if u have any idea about this?

Regards
M~

Unfortunately it's not as simple as that. A lot of things go into optimizing your site for the search engines. It's not how many times you use a keyword - its HOW you use your keywords in the content of your site.

That is why I constantly work on optimizing my blog so that it shows up at least on page 1-2 of google's search engine results. So far I have managed to do that for myself and for my clients.

You have to know how to work on incorporating the keywords into your site - NOT how many times the keywords appear on your site.

If you just do a little research you will see that other sites will get ranked higher than your site because of the way they incorporate your keywords

It's not the quantity of the keyword but the quality of the keywords that matter.

Inbox Dollars is supposed to be a site that pays you to take surveys, answer email, etc., I was thinking about joining it myself but one of the things that I found out is that they require you giving them a credit card number so that really turned me off to the program! But while I was online investigating the program I got a chance to read what some others had to say about the program.

Is My Site Eligible For Adsense?

The person who could best answer that question would be adsense themselves. Before being able to add the adsense coding to your site you have to first submit the url of your site to adsense so that they can review and approve it. There are some sites that adsense will not approve:

Sites displaying Google ads may not include:

  • Violent content, racial intolerance, or advocacy against any individual, group, or organization

  • Pornography, adult, or mature content

  • Hacking/cracking content

  • Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia

  • Excessive profanity

  • Gambling or casino-related content

  • Content regarding programs which compensate users for clicking on ads or offers, performing searches, surfing websites, or reading emails

  • Excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant keywords in the content or code of web pages

  • Deceptive or manipulative content or construction to improve your site's search engine ranking, e.g., your site's PageRank

  • Sales or promotion of weapons or ammunition (e.g., firearms, fighting knives, stun guns)

  • Sales or promotion of beer or hard alcohol

  • Sales or promotion of tobacco or tobacco-related products

  • Sales or promotion of prescription drugs

  • Sales or promotion of products that are replicas or imitations of designer goods

  • Sales or distribution of term papers or student essays

  • Any other content that is illegal, promotes illegal activity, or infringes on the legal rights of others

"When Will I Get Paid?"

First of all congratulations on making enough to get your adsense payment (I don't know if its your first adsense payment or not)

Here is the general rule regarding the payments

When you have reached $100 in earnings in a month you should expect to receive a payment. However the payment won't come to you until the next month and it will be AFTER the 15th of the next month at its soonest because the 15th of the month is the last date of the "holding" period - that is the period where people can change their account information and things like a change of address or if they want to change how they receive a payment.

If you're getting paid by EFT/bank transfer then the "average" date that you will see it show in your account would be the 25th of the month. Note I say "average" because you may get the payment sooner or you may get it later.

If you are getting paid by check then it will be a few days or even a week later then mentioned above.

Adsense's policy says that those who are getting paid by bank transfer can expect their payment by the 5th of the next, next month. If its not received by then, then you can contact them and find out why and possibly get a "replacement" payment.

If you are getting paid by check then you can expect your payment by the 25th of the next, next month and it you don't receive it by then you can contact adsense about getting a "replacement" check.

Now even though I mentioned adsense's "official" policy towards payment it has been my experience so far that the payments come a week or so before the "actual" stated policy date - which I'm sure adsense has to allow for "whatever" problems may come up.

How Can I Increase My Adsense Income?

There are 2 general rules for increasing your adsense income

  • increase the traffic to your site. More traffic means more potential clicks thus meaning more potential adsense earnings

  • put more higher-paying keyword content into your site.

The internet abounds with sites that say they have a list of high-paying keywords - including my own (which I test on my and my clients sites all the time to see how successfully these high-paying keywords pay as far as rates). I have seen some rates as high as $1000! There are even some high-paying keywords that could earn you $15 per click!

The above are good rules to follow in general. But next comes specifics!

A lot will depend on what your site or blog is actually about. Knowing that will determine where you (and how you) can increase your adsense earnings.

As Of Today, I Passed The $100 Minimum Amount Of Earnings Required To Get An Adsense Payment Next Month!

That's right! It's official! I just checked my adsense earnings today and today is the day that I earned passed the $100 mark. You need to earn at least $100 during the month before you will get an adsense payment during the later end of the next month.

Now I don't tell you this to brag or boast but to show you that you don't have to have a lot of websites, fancy-looking websites or websites that have a gigantic amount of traffic. People are always bemoaning the fact that they haven't made any adsense money with their blog or website and the truth of the matter is that if you have not been making any adsense money with your blog or website you will have to find out the reason why! It is just as simple as that!

Two different people could have a blog on the exact same topic but only one of them is making any adsense money and the other one is not - why is that?

If you don't know why your blog (or website) is not making any adsense money then ask someone to take a look at your site and maybe they will be able to see something that you don't.

The bottom line is this: If you want to make adsense money with your blog or website then you are going to have to do the kind of work that is necessary to make (or make more) money with adsense. Have you been increasing the traffic to your site? Where is your traffic coming from? Have you optimized your site for your adsense ads? Have you optimized your site for the search engines so that people will be able to find your site easily? Those are just a few of the things that you have to work on if you want to make more money with adsense.

I don't have a lot of blogs and I don't have a lot of websites but yet and still I made it to the minimum amount required to get an adsense payment next month and the month isn't even over with yet! Can you say the same thing about your website(s) or blog(s)?

How Come I Get Clicks But No Earnings?

If you are checking your adsense earnings and you see that you have gotten a number of clicks but you haven't earned any money from those clicks it could either one of two reasons:

  • the ads that are appearing on your site are public service ads and therefore you don't get any earnings if people click on them

  • the clicks (for whatever reason) are being counted as invalid clicks

robots.txt file - What Is It?

Simply put the robots.txt file tells what parts of your website that you want the web "spiders" (including adsense's web "spiders") and search engines to access. You put this file on your server - which means that you place it in the same online server that hosts your website(s).

As you can see from the name of the file it is a .txt file which you can create using the simple notepad program.

You can find more specific information about robots.txt file on Wikipedia

(more specific information was given to the person that asked this question for an additional price)

How Come The Adsense Ads That Appear On My Site Don't Have Anything To Do With The Content Of My Site?

If the adsense ads that are on your site are not related to the content of your site then you definitely are missing something because the adsense ads are drawing from the content of your site so it means that the adsense ads are working right - it's just the contents of your site that isn't working "right".

Now I know that you are probably saying "How could MY content not be right?". You have to remember that the adsense spiders are basically robots / machines and that they crawl your site's contents with machine (and not human) eyes! That means that they won't be able to distinguish that your "Sunshine's Flower Store" website has to do with flowers and not sunshine. Clearly if adsense's "spiders" were human then the human spiders would be able to see that your site has to do with flowers and not sunshine. But such is not the case!

Okay so how do you get the ads to relate to the content of your site?

You have 2 options here

  • Change the wording and the content of your site. Now you don't have to give your site a major overhaul - just change the wording of your site so that the adsense spiders will find the right kind of content for the right kind of ads that you want showing on your site. Now this is going to take a bit of work and a bit of practice but honestly speaking if you want the ads to relate to the content of your site then you have to do it. Now you can't tell from this blog but if you go to one of my client's blogs - Hamming It Up - you will see that the adsense ads that appear on this blog are related to the content of the blog. You will also see that the blog posts don't compromise the intent / true meaning of the blog just to get the "right" adsense ads to appear. You can do the same thing with your blog.

  • You can implement "section targeting" on your blog so you can target the content that the adsense spiders will crawl for when searching for keyword content on your site.

    What are the "section-targeting" codes?

High-Paying Keyword term - mesothelioma lawyers

What is mesothelioma? According to wikipedia it is a form of cancer that is almost always caused by previous exposure to asbestos.

Now why would this term - mesothelioma - bring in high-paying advertisers? Because apparently there are a lot of lawsuits going on regarding asbestos in the workplace and people contracting this form of cancer. And where there are lawsuits there are lawyers! And lawyers would be very interested in finding people who might have a case regarding mesothelioma, asbestos and them contracing this kind of form of cancer.

Previous mesothelioma-related lawsuits have resulted in multi-million dollar awards to the victims and of course the lawyers get some of that money so they would be very interested in finding people that might have a valid lawsuit against their workplace.

So that is a good reason why this term would be such a high-paying keyword because there is a lot of money involved with it!

Auction Ads - Why Is My Payment Taking So Long?

According to their website, auction ads say that they send out payments during the first of the month. It is now October 4th and I have yet to see any payment made to my account.

This is very frustrating and it reminds me of last month's wait for the adsense payment. In that case I wasn't the only persoon that was upset because the adsense payments were so late in coming!

However since this is my first auctionads payment I am very anxious to get receive my payment. I sent them an email asking about whether or not I would get a payment this month and they emailed me back later in the morning saying that I would receive a payment this month. So far I haven't received anything yet so I sent them another email yesterday but I still haven't heard back from them.

I'm very anxious to get my payment! However since this is a Thursday going on a Friday that means that if a payment is made to me on Friday then there is a 2 step process that has to be gone through which will take at least 2 business days! Now since Monday is Columbus Day I'll have to check and see if the banks will be operating on that day - if not then the process will take 3 days!

I don't understand why I am having so much problems with receiving my auctionads payment. I got an email saying that I would get a payment this month and since auctionads' site says that they issue payments on the first of the mont = then where is my payment?

*10/13/07 - I just got an email from them today saying that they are looking into the matter. When I find out more I will post here.

10/20/07 - Update! - I finally did receive my first Auction Ads payment! If I earn enough to get a payment next month I hope it doesn't take as long or be so complicated!

"I'm Not Making Any Money With Adsense!"

I see a lot of people posting about how they are not making any money with adsense. The first question that comes to my mind is "Are they making ANY money with adsense or are they make small amounts of money with adsense"? There is a difference between the two.

If you aren't making any money with adsense then that means that you have to "rethink" your site. Making no money with adsense means that while you have the adsense ads on your site nobody is clicking on them and that is where you have to put some effort in.

If you are making small amounts of money with adsense then that means that your site has low-paying keyword content in it and you will have to work on incorporating high-paying keyword content into your site.

It's an unfortunate thing to say but if your site isn't making any money with adsense then there is nobody to blame but yourself!

Here is a link to a blog post about just how much money people have made with Adsense.

How am I doing with Adsense? Well I started getting my adsense payment in my second month of joining the adsense program late last year. So far, ever since then I have managed to earn at least the minimum monthly amount (which is $100) to get an adsense payment each month so far!

Still Waiting For My Auction Ads Payment!

I could be just a little over-anxious because this is my first Auction Ads payment ever. According to their blog they say that they issue payments on the first of the month for last month's earnings.

Here is an excerpt from their blog:

"AuctionAds Publishers, we were excited to get our first set of payments out to you today! Please note that we sent out your month one earnings via PayPal today from “Shoe Money Media Group”. Moving forward payments will be from our AuctionAds PayPal account but please look for the “Shoe Money Media Group” payment for today.

One question we’ve gotten from a few publishers is why they weren’t paid for the 31st of the month. Due to our net-0 terms and the time it takes to reconcile, earnings from the last day of the month go onto the next month.

We are excited about the growth in publisher earnings we saw in our first month of business! Please note that it can take time to ramp up earnings but our publishers who have given the program time have seen great results. We have many new features and announcements coming soon so stay tuned!
"

So I am still anxiously waiting for my first Auction Ads payment!

How Could Someone Hack Into My Adsense?

There seem to be quite a few ways that someone can get their adsense site hacked!

One way involves whether or not you have downloaded or gotten some type of trojan program that installed itself in your computer's system.

Malicious threats can also come in the form of IM (that's "Instant Messenger") downloads and other downloads such as download links that you get in your email. So now this means that you have to be very careful of what you download!

In that case the only way to solve this would be for you to do a full system format and then re-install everything that you had on your computer again - Yes quite a hassle I know but its better than having your adsense site continue to be hacked!
